Amanda Seyfried’s life is “interesting” right now.

The 40-year-old actress confirmed last month that she and Thomas Sadoski have split after nine years of marriage, but she seems to be feeling philosophical about the situation because she insisted “everything happens for a reason”.

Asked how her life is, she told The Hollywood Reporter: “It’s interesting, yeah, it’s interesting.”

She then agreed with the outlet that it is hard to give interviews at the moment and added: “But, for a good reason. I don’t know, I think everything that’s happening is meant to happen [and] everything, everyone that’s in your life is meant to be in your life. That’s just, kind of, and I’m here tonight.”

The Mean Girls star – who has two children with Thomas, a nine-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son – insisted there are a number of lighter topics she’s happy to talk about at the moment.

She said: “I like to talk abut the emus, and I like to talk about Halloween and you can engage with me if you want to talk about all things like apple pie and olives and really good hard ciders.”

Amanda and Thomas confirmed their separation in a joint statement.

They said: “We have been separated for a while, and it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit. We’ve got each other forever — and it’s good.”

The pair met for the first time back in 2015, when they worked together on The Way We Get By, an off-Broadway play.

They got engaged later that year, before eloping in 2017.

Thomas said at the time: “We eloped. We just took off into the country with an officiant and, just the two of us, and we did our thing.

“It was beautiful. It was everything that it should be. It was just the two of us talking to each other.”

Meanwhile, Amanda previously revealed that her entire lifestyle has been transformed by her experience of motherhood but she cherishes her “alone time”.

Amanda – who has previously dated the likes of Dominic Cooper, Desmond Harrington and Justin Long – told People: “I sit and I crochet, or I go to the gym in the barn, or I go out to coffee with a fellow parent or a friend upstate.”

Amanda has learned to enjoy some of life’s simple pleasures, like knitting, since becoming a mother for the first time in 2017.

The actress – who has previously admitted to suffering from anxiety and panic attacks – said: “I get a lot of alone time on a train when I go to the city. If I have to go to the city, I take the train. And I get like an hour and 40 minutes of alone time each way. And I’m always crocheting. Knitting, crocheting, that’s my lifestyle.”
