Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday accused the YSRCP of deliberately creating unrest in Uttarandhra region ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s August 1 visit, alleging that its supporters blocked roads, removed their shirts, staged unruly protests and performed dangerous motorcycle stunts.
Naidu described the conduct as “rowdyism” and said the government would act against anyone disrupting law and order, regardless of political affiliation.

PM Modi had visited northern Andhra Pradesh on August 1 to inaugurate the Bhogapuram International Airport and launch projects worth Rs 17,900 crore.
‘LAW APPLIES EQUALLY TO EVERYONE’
The Chief Minister said his government would not hesitate to act even against members of the ruling TDP if they broke the law.
He cited the arrest of a TDP worker in Guntur who allegedly insulted a woman, saying he had ordered immediate action to demonstrate that political affiliation would not protect anyone from the law.
Naidu also referred to an incident in Srikakulam, where police had been deployed for Jagan Mohan Reddy’s programme, a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to the region.
The TDP supremo alleged that YSRCP supporters occupied roads and created disturbances for several hours, putting additional pressure on the police.
Naidu further alleged that a woman police officer was pushed and subjected to inappropriate behaviour during the protests.
He questioned how women could feel secure if even police personnel deployed to maintain law and order were subjected to such treatment.
‘YSRCP POLITICISING TOBACCO FARMERS’ ISSUE’
Naidu also accused the YSRCP of politicising the problems faced by tobacco farmers in Devarapalli.
He said tobacco prices had declined after some farmers produced additional quantities in anticipation of higher returns.
According to Naidu, the state government had been working with the Centre to provide relief, including securing Rs 50,000 interest-free loans for farmers and arranging nearly Rs 100 crore as a price-deficit subsidy of Rs 10 per kg.
Despite these measures, the Chief Minister alleged that Opposition groups arrived claiming they would secure better prices for farmers but instead created disturbances that resulted in tobacco produce being damaged.
Naidu accused the YSRCP of trying to provoke confrontations and later blaming the administration for the resulting law-and-order situation.
