Jason Momoa has reportedly purchased the late Sam Neill’s sprawling New Zealand property for $15 million.

The 47-year-old Aquaman star has snapped up the Queenstown home, according to OneRoof, as he attempts to spend more time in the country.

The 4.92-hectare lifestyle estate is understood to have once been owned by acting legend Neill before transferring to his former wife, Noriko Watana.

Neill died from pneumonia on July 13 in Sydney at the age of 78.

The Jurassic Park star’s family and long-term agent confirmed he died cancer-free, having previously beaten angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma through CAR T-cell therapy.

It comes after Momoa secured another high-profile real estate deal earlier this year.

The New Zealand Herald reported that Ariki Group, the company owned by Momoa, Taika Waititi and Cliff Curtis, purchased a film studio called Studio West located in West Auckland.

Momoa has been outspoken about his love for New Zealand and has a creative, cultural and spiritual connection with the islands.

“There’s a deep respect for story, for land, for community, and that’s something I am drawn to,” he said.

“What excites me the most is the opportunity to build something lasting that supports local crews, nurtures talent, and creates pathways for the next generation of storytellers.

“I am proud to be part of that journey, and to help champion stories that deserve to be seen and heard around the world.”

The Hawaiian-born actor told the Herald in 2025 that he first stepped foot in Queenstown in his early 20s and has been obsessed ever since.

“I came here when I was about 20 years old, and when I landed there, Hawaii is home, but there’s never been anywhere in the world where I’ve ever felt more connected,” he told the outlet.

“I can’t really explain it. If it was my destiny, my ancestors … don’t know what it was, but the moment I stepped off that plane I felt it, and I’ve always been drawn to it.”
