Are sparks flying between singer-actor Jennifer Lopez and her Office Romance co-star Brett Goldstein? The question has been doing the rounds for months, fuelled by public appearances and fan speculation. Now, Lopez has addressed the rumours herself, and her answer leaves little room for doubt.

The actor-singer appeared alongside Goldstein on NBC’s Today show with Savannah Guthrie on Tuesday while promoting their upcoming romantic comedy, Office Romance. During the conversation, the duo was asked about persistent rumours linking them romantically.

Lopez brushed off the speculation, saying she has grown accustomed to being linked with almost anyone she is seen with professionally or publicly.
“There’s never a time when I’m seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don’t try to put me with the person,” she said.
Goldstein responded with humour, joking, “I think if you stand near her, that’s what happens. That’s why I’ve been standing so close this whole time!”
When Guthrie pressed further, Lopez elaborated on why she does not pay much attention to such reports.
“That was not an answer? It was an answer! Because all these people that they put me with… I think I was with Kevin Costner this year. There was a lot of people. It happens all the time. Doesn’t make it true,” she said.
Lopez then firmly clarified her relationship status, saying, “Not dating,” with Goldstein immediately adding, “Correct.”

The rumours gained traction after Lopez and Goldstein were seen attending a Broadway show together in March last year. As excitement around Office Romance grew, speculation about an off-screen romance also picked up. However, both stars have now made it clear that their relationship is strictly professional.
The discussion comes amid continued public interest in Lopez’s personal life following her split from Ben Affleck. The couple, who rekindled their early-2000s romance and married in 2022, finalised their divorce last year after two years of marriage.
Recently, during a performance in Las Vegas, Lopez reflected on love and self-worth while introducing her 1999 hit If You Had My Love.
“When I first sang it, I was very young. And I sang it with a lot of hope. But now, today, you know how I sing it? I sing it in power,” she told the audience.
She continued, “Because the truth is, if you wanted to have my love, you would have to earn it. You would have to treat me right. You would have to respect me. You’d have to accept me for all that I am.”
Lopez and Affleck first got engaged in the early 2000s after meeting on the sets of Gigli. They later reunited nearly two decades after their initial breakup and married in July 2022. Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024, with court documents stating that the couple had separated more than a year earlier.
For now, though, Lopez and Goldstein’s Office Romance is set to premiere on Netflix on June 5.
