Mumbai: Bigg Boss 13 ex-couple Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurana are once again at the centre of attention, with their past relationship making headlines after Himanshi opened up about their breakup and the religious differences that contributed to their separation.
The former couple, who met and fell in love during their time on Bigg Boss 13, have now exchanged statements online, with Asim strongly refuting Himanshi’s claims and making a fresh revelation about what happened after their split.
The controversy began after Himanshi Khurana appeared on Paras Chhabra’s podcast, where she spoke about her relationship and the differences in religious beliefs between her and her former partner. Although she did not take Asim’s name, her comments were widely understood to be about their relationship.
What did Himanshi Khurana say about Asim Riaz?
Speaking to Paras Chhabra, Himanshi clarified that she would not describe the situation as conversion but said her former partner had spoken extensively about the positive aspects of his religion and wanted her to understand and accept them.
“Conversion nahi bolungi, par woh apne religion ki achhi baatein bata rahe the, sab bata rahe the. Achhi baat hai. Woh chahte the ki main achha samajhkar accept karu, lekin mujhe manzoor nahi tha,” Himanshi said.
She further explained how the situation affected her emotionally and made her question her relationship with her own faith.
“Aisa feel hua ki main apne Bhagwan ko dhokha de rahi hoon,” she said.
Her comments subsequently sparked speculation that religious differences and expectations surrounding faith had played a major role in the couple’s decision to part ways.
Asim Riaz responds to Himanshi’s Claims
Asim Riaz has now hit back at Himanshi’s comments, strongly denying that he ever asked her to change her religion. In an Instagram Story, the actor and model said he had “never” asked anyone to change their religion and urged his former partner not to use religion as a weapon.
“I never asked anyone to change their religion. Not once. Matter of fact, I was the one who pushed you towards fitness. You’ve been in this shape only after meeting me, before that, everyone knew how you looked,” Asim wrote.
He further criticised Himanshi for bringing religion into the controversy, adding, “So please, don’t use religion as a weapon. It’s a deeply sensitive subject, and turning something so personal into a reason for people to hate me is immature and only shows how low you’re willing to go for attention.”
In another post on X, Asim made a fresh and personal revelation about their relationship. He claimed that Himanshi contacted him three months after their breakup and expressed a desire to get back together.
Asim Riaz wrote, “Bad relationship-Thyroid, anxiety, depression, nose bleed, Face old, Smell from hair, face acne, So why did you msg me after 3 months in March and wanted to get back to this relationship, don’t worry, I have the msg, screenshot, if needed I will post next time.”

Asim and Himanshi met on Bigg Boss 13, where their bond gradually turned into a romantic relationship. Following their stint on the reality show, the two continued dating for around four years and were frequently seen supporting each other publicly.
However, the couple announced their separation in 2023, citing differences in their religious beliefs.
At the time, Himanshi had shared a note confirming their breakup and requested privacy from fans and the media.
“Yes, me and Asim are not together anymore. All the time we have spent together has been great, but our togetherness comes to an end now. The journey of our relationship was great, and we are moving forward in our lives. With due respect to our respective religions, we are sacrificing our love for our different religious beliefs. We have nothing against each other. We request you to respect our privacy,” she wrote.
