In the middle of Assam’s flood relief operations, one small gesture has left the internet emotional.

A video showing a woman offering homemade juice to relief volunteers who had been working tirelessly in her village has gone viral, even though she had reportedly lost almost everything herself.

The heartwarming video, widely shared on social media, shows the woman warmly greeting the volunteers before wading through waist-deep floodwater and handing each of them glasses of juice.

The volunteers, visibly touched, pause to accept the drinks, exchanging smiles and words of gratitude before resuming their relief work.

What makes the moment all the more moving is the story behind it. According to the post accompanying the video, the woman herself is a flood survivor who lost almost everything in the disaster.

Yet, instead of focusing on her own hardships, she chose to express gratitude to those who have been working around the clock to rescue stranded residents and distribute food, drinking water and other essentials across the flood-ravaged region.

The video has gone viral, with many social media users calling it a reminder that humanity often shines brightest in the darkest of times. Others praised the woman for her selflessness, saying her gesture reflected the resilience and generosity of people who continue to stand strong despite unimaginable loss.

Floods continued to affect five districts in Assam on Saturday, with 1,92,799 people still hit by the situation and two more deaths taking this year’s toll to 82, officials said.

The worst-affected districts were Sivasagar, Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon and Charaideo, though the overall situation improved from Thursday, when more than two lakh people in eight districts were affected.
