The 25-year-old has batted beautifully and deserves his moment here in the Darwin sun in just his second Test match. It’s also the first Test match century ever scored for Bangladesh in Australia.
After ignoring a couple of tempters from Nathan Lyon outside off stump, he leans into an off-drive and pushes the ball firmly enough to beat the bowler. It rolls down to long-off, giving him plenty of time to get through for the single he needed, lifting off his helmet and saluting an appreciative crowd.
Earlier in the over it was his captain and batting partner Najmul Shanto who raised his own milestone, moving to 50.
