Australian swimming legend Ariarne Titmus has announced her engagement to partner Mac Powell.
The happy couple posted a series of photos of the happy moment with the caption “you + me forever 🤍 07.09.26”.

Powell popped the question on a beach in Greece on Titmus’ 26th birthday. The proposal came two years after they first met on a blind date set up by a mutual friend.
Titmus’ father and Channel 7 presenter Steve Titmus said Powell travelled to Brisbane to formally ask him for his permission.
“Mac did the right thing, he did come and ask me a few weeks ago. I had to keep the secret. He is such a wonderful guy, terrific bloke. Both families will be delighted with the news. Just terrific,” Steve Titmus said on 7NEWS.
The couple went public with their relationship in early 2025, with Titmus revealing Powell initially did not know who she was.
Titmus then relocated to Melbourne to continue her relationship with Powell, who is an investment analyst.
The post was immediately flooded with likes and comments from friends, fellow swimmers and the other figures from the sporting world.
“CONGRATULATIONS!!!! So happy for you both,” fellow swimmer Shayna Jack wrote.
“Congratulation darling girl,” Steph Rice said.
“THE BEST NEWS!!!! Congratulations 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶,” Brianna Throssell added.
“Perfect just perfect! Much love,” Channel 7 presenter Mel McLaughlin said.
Titmus announced her shock retirement from the swimming last year, aged just 25.
The superstar had been on a break following the Paris Olympics where she achieved an historic third individual gold medal, winning the 400m freestyle in the race dubbed ‘the race of the century.
Titmus defeated the other two previous world record holders of the event — American all-time great Katie Ledecky, and Canadian swimming prodigy Summer McIntosh.
In doing so, Titmus became the first Australian athlete since Dawn Fraser in 1964 to win back-to-back gold medals in the same event.
Titmus credited Ledecky with pushing to become a champion athlete, naming her 2020 Tokyo Olympics, when she edged the 400m world record holder, as her greatest achievement.
She stepped away from the sport having won a staggering haul of 33 international medals including eight Olympic medals (four gold, three silver and one bronze) and four world titles.
Since her retirement, Titmus has transitioned seamlessly into the media, commentating for Seven for this year’s Commonwealth Games.
