Hyderabad: On Saturday, September 5, a 35-year-old fitness instructor was detained in the city of Hyderabad for duping a man worth Inr 1, 70, 000 and promising Indian Premier League cards.
Bhukya Mohan Lal, a native of Kukatpally, was identified as the accused. He claimed to have connections with stars, police officers, and officials. The victim’s Lallaguda officers allegedly promised to give her lounge and ground-floor tickets for a game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, according to the Lallaguda authorities.
Lal received Rs 1 million from the plaintiff at Tarnaka, but he omitted to provide the match reservations. The complainant was then reportedly he started avoiding him. The Lallaguda police filed a case of cheating on May 30 under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita ( BNS )’s Section 318 ( 4 ) ( cheating ).
Investigation revealed that Lal had duped others while using the false pretense of offering them jobs in the Postal Department, Panchayat Secretary, Group IV, employment opportunities, Tournament cards, and other benefits, as well as getting money from them.
He reportedly presented himself as an employee of the Telangana Legislative Secretariat, Hyderabad, under the patronage of a minister, and allegedly had an identification card that supposedly indicated his affiliation with the Secretariat in an effort to win the victim’s confidence.
He likewise presented himself as a fitness trainer on an identification card pertaining to Defence Laboratories School, which read “PTG Physical Education.”
Police are identifying additional victims who may have been also cheated by seizing their mobile phones, identification cards, documents, and checks.
