Actor Salman Khan returned to host the Bigg Boss 20 Weekend Ka Vaar episode on September 27, addressing digital safety concerns, paparazzi conduct, and ongoing house dynamics. Addressing the rise of deepfakes, the host condemned individuals creating fake videos using artificial intelligence technology and urged the government to enforce strict social media censorship.
During the broadcast, Salman Khan expressed strong disapproval of manipulated media circulating online.
He said, “Kisi ne aapki AI voice leke dub karke kisi ko gali bakdi. You know what they’re doing? AI videos bana rahe hai yeh. Bohot saare logon ke and even I am there in AI video. (Someone takes your artificial intelligence voice clone, dubs it, and abuses someone. You know what they’re doing? They are creating artificial intelligence videos. Of many people, and even I am featured in these fake videos).”
“Toh chalo some people jinko pata nahi ke yeh AI hai, vo post kar denge yeh Salman Khan vaha pe tha. But jinko yeh baat pata hai, jinho ne yeh video banaya hai, what kind of people are they? Now those kind of people should be put behind bars. Jab tak koi ek ad, do aisa andar jaayega nahi na, tab tak yeh rukne wala hai nahi” (Now, people who don’t know it is generated content might post that Salman Khan was there. But those who know this reality and still created the video—what kind of people are they? Those people should be put behind bars. Until one or two of them go to prison, this will not stop), the actor added.
Salman emphasised that strict legislation and social media regulation were necessary to curb the misuse of public figures’ likenesses.
Actor Fatima Sana Shaikh, who appeared on the show alongside Raghubir Yadav and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub to promote their JioHotstar series Hunkkaar, commended Salman Khan for previously slamming trolls and confronting paparazzi regarding low camera angles targeting female actors. “Jis tarike se aapne trolls ko iss baar muh tod jawab diya hai, it’s a huge thing. Kyunki, aapke position mein koi aisi baat karta hai, koi muddon pe khada hota hai, woh bahut hi bada impact deta hai logon pe” (The way you gave a fitting reply to trolls this time is a huge step. Because when someone in your position speaks up and stands for an issue, it creates a massive impact on people), she said. In response, Salman Khan mentioned that media photographers took his feedback constructively.
Addressing his physical appearance, the actor clarified that removing his shirt in a previous instance was not intended to showcase six-pack abs. “Aur main jab shirt utara tha, maine isliye utara tha ki nahi hai bhai ab six pack. Ab unko pata nahi body acchi lag gayi” (And when I took off my shirt, I did so to show that I don’t have six-pack abs right now. Now I don’t know why people still liked the physique), he remarked, adding that his fitness regime remains a work in progress.
In the eviction segment, nominated contestants Isha Rikhi and Yung DSA faced the public vote. Having received the lower number of votes, Isha Rikhi was eliminated from the show. Following her departure, singer Rhiti Tiwari broke down emotionally and was comforted by fellow contestants Mahhi Vij and Kanika Mann. Earlier in the episode, Salman Khan had advised Rhiti and Uditi Singh to resolve their ongoing personal disagreements and move forward.
The episode also featured actors Ajay Devgn and Jaideep Ahlawat, who made a promotional appearance for their upcoming feature film Drishyam: The Conclusion, scheduled for release on October 2. During a special interactive session, Ajay Devgn presented Uditi Singh with unreleased footage showing Love Gill referring to her as a ‘chudail’ (witch) after initially calling her a ‘pretty doll’. Uditi declined to reconcile with Love when asked by Ajay. Separately, contestant Aman Gandhi claimed that Kanika Mann had undergone cosmetic procedures.
Towards the conclusion of Bigg Boss 20 Episode 22, Love Gill staged a scripted romantic sequence with Gullu and Qazi Touqeer, proposing, “Scene banate hain, main bolungi, ‘Ok good night Gullu’” (Let’s stage a scene, I will say, ‘Ok good night Gullu’). As Qazi sang ‘Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo’ in the background, Love and Gullu performed a slow-motion waltz before Love said, “Mujhe apne ghar wapas jaana hoga Gullu. Mujhe der tak bahar rehna allow nahi hai” (I will have to return home, Gullu. I am not allowed to stay out late). Love was later seen discussing with Gullu the strategic use of staged flirting and arguments to maintain audience engagement.
As the credits rolled, contestants Aman Gandhi and Uditi Singh speculated about Qazi’s personal disclosures regarding his marital status, while Yung DSA and Asif discussed Qazi taking all the footage on the show.
