A civic volunteer attached to the District Intelligence Branch office in West Bengal’s Purba Medinipur was arrested by the state’s Anti-Corruption Branch for allegedly accepting a Rs 1,000 bribe to process and issue a Police Clearance Certificate.
The arrest followed a formal complaint alleging that the civic volunteer had demanded Rs 1,000 as illegal gratification for processing the PCC.
