A person has died in a house fire in Spearwood.
Firefighters rushed to put out the flames after being called just before 6.30am Monday morning, and while they finished by 8am, investigators confirmed a body had been discovered at the fire scene.
Its believed the person who died was a resident of the Gerald Street home.
The fire is understood to have started in an external sleep-out, with a neighbour at the rear of the property calling triple-0 while another went to the door to alert anyone inside.
Arson squad investigators spent most of Monday at the scene, but are yet to determine a cause of the fire.

The person’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
Several distressed members of the public arrived at the scene shortly after the fire first broke out, joining a small gathering at the front of the house next door.
It’s understood the home had no power at the time of the fire and a generator was being used for electricity.

It’s the second fire at the property in the past week, with crews responding to a blaze in its rear shed sparked by lithium batteries on Monday last week.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
