Léa Seydoux has no interest in the James Bond casting saga.

The 41-year-old actress, who played Bond girl Madeleine Swann in 2015’s Spectre and 2021’s No Time To Die, has addressed the ongoing speculation around who will replace her co-star Daniel Craig as the next 007 actor.

However, she bluntly told PEOPLE magazine: “I don’t really care, to be honest. That’s not my… It’s over.”

Léa noted that despite her comments, she “loved” her time working on the two Bond films, but she has moved on.

She added: “I really loved being on this franchise, but now it’s … done.”

Last week, the FILM FILM star wasn’t quite so guarded about the speculation, as she offered her thoughts on what the next leading man should bring to the Bond role.

She told ELLE UK: “He needs to be layered, you know? And that is something that’s hard to find in young actors.”

Asked if she’d ever return to the franchise, Léa insisted things would be so different after Amazon MGM Studios’ takeover over the film saga.

She explained: “I really loved working with Barbara Broccoli and her brother Michael [G Wilson]. It was one of the best experiences, a pure delight. And I don’t know, it will be different.”

That’s nothing against the next 007 director Denis Villeneuve, who she worked with on Dune: Part Two.

She added: “He’s a great choice, let’s see. I’m curious how they will reinvent it. But for me, it will never be the same because it was Barbara’s father who initiated the Bond movies.

“Now, I don’t know. It became American… I hope they will keep the British spirit.”

Léa recently reflected on her transition from being a leading lady in France to taking on most supporting roles in the US.

She told Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “I’m really satisfied with the parts I’m given… I’m not frustrated. It’s tough for someone who’s not totally American to lead a Hollywood film.”

She admitted while she sees acting as “like a laboratory” and something she’s not entirely comfortable with, performing does make her “feel alive”.

And when it comes to fame, it’s still something the star is figuring out, as she doesn’t often get recognised in public.

She added: “Fame is really not something that interferes in my life. Sometimes I’m surprised when people look at me in the street.

“And then I’m like, ‘Oh yes, I forgot. I’m famous,’ but so many people don’t recognise me, it’s crazy. I can take the train or bus with no problem.

“People are like, ‘What? Seydoux? How do you spell it?’ They’ll put a C and I’m like, ‘No, S! S!’ They don’t know who I am.”
