A man has been arrested for allegedly making false claims in the wake of the Bondi Beach terror attack, which killed 15 people.

The horrific attack on December 14 took place at a public Hanukkah celebration.

When police arrived two men, Sajid Akram and his son Naveed, were allegedly shooting into a crowd of people with long arm firearms.

Fifteen people, aged between 10 and 87, were killed.

Sajid Akram, 50, suffered fatal injuries.

Naveed Akram, who was injured and arrested, remains before the courts.

While terrorism and homicide squads investigated the attack and the response of police, detectives identified a man who allegedly made a false statement that he was injured in the shooting.

He is also accused of making subsequent fraudulent claims for compensation.

The 46-year-old man was arrested around 10am on October 27.

The man was charged with publishing false or misleading material to obtain an advantage and fake representation resulting in police investigation.

He was granted conditional bail and is expected to appear in court on November 18.
