Delhi’s luxury hotel market is seeing a sharp rise in demand ahead of the BRICS Summit on September 12 and 13, with several prominent hotels in central Delhi reporting very limited or no room availability around the summit dates.
Hotels including the Taj Mahal Hotel, ITC Maurya and The Lalit are seeing room availability tighten as the national capital prepares to host the two-day international summit.

Where rooms are still available, prices have also surged significantly, with some luxury properties charging more than Rs 2 lakh for a night’s stay.
ITC MAURYA ROOM RATES CROSS RS 2 LAKH
At ITC Maurya, a search on the hotel’s official website shows a room costing around Rs 2.33 lakh for one night around the summit period.
The same room, when searched through a third-party platform such as MakeMyTrip, is priced at around Rs 2.5 lakh per night.
The sharp difference from regular room rates reflects the strong demand for accommodation in central Delhi during the BRICS Summit, with limited inventory available at several high-end properties.
LUXURY HOTEL AVAILABILITY TIGHTENS
The Taj Mahal Hotel, ITC Maurya and The Lalit are among the prominent central Delhi hotels where availability around September 12-13 has become extremely limited. In some cases, rooms are no longer available for the summit dates.
The surge in hotel demand comes as Delhi prepares for the arrival of international delegations and officials for the BRICS meeting.
For the city’s hospitality sector, the summit is translating into higher occupancy and a sharp increase in room rates, particularly among luxury hotels located close to the central Delhi venues.
The BRICS Summit will be held on September 12 and 13, with the event bringing heightened international attention to India’s role in the grouping as well as a significant boost in demand for hotels and other hospitality services in the capital.
