A British man recently rode through a McDonald’s drive-thru on a horse.
Nick Holden, an event rider with a sizeable following on social media, has taken to Instagram to share the bizarre encounter at McDonald’s, where he queued up to order his meal while sat on his beloved horse Sparky and was warmly greeted by staff members at the restaurant.
Nick – who rode to the McDonald’s drive-thru on horseback – commented on Instagram: “Maccies is horse-friendly, I can confirm. And, we even got a little bag of apple slices.”
He captioned the post: “Ride thru or drive thru??
“Find a more bomb proof pony than sparky, he wasn’t phased by anything and the kind staff at the McDonald’s even gave him some apple slices for his trouble!
“He’s worth his weight in gold and I think it’s a sign he wants to come out of retirement so I need more ideas for adventures to take him on!

Nick’s post has already received more than 52,000 likes on Instagram, and his followers have been keen to make some tongue-in-cheek comments, too.
One follower said: “This is what is must of been like going to McDonalds in 1643.”
Another replied: “Just a curious question from the US does their soft serve machine work or is that just a US thing where it’s always broken? [laughing emoji] (sic)”
Lots of posters were charmed by the story of Nick and his horse Sparky.
One social media user commented: “Love that u stopped for your little picnic together on the way back and Sparky got his well earned apple slices.. fabulous (sic)”
On the other hand, others were less impressed.
One person wrote on the photo-sharing platform: “You’re riding with very loose reins even going over those small log jumps and on the road, isn’t that a bit reckless? Your pony is very sweet by the way (sic)”
