Fremantle Dockers player Bailey Banfield has announced he and wife Julia Edwards are expecting a baby at Freo’s Brownlow event at Optus Stadium.
Banfield and Edwards took to social media with a carousel of sweet photographs and videos, featuring the couple dressed up in their Brownlow attire with a sonogram print.
Pictures of the sonagram tucked into Edwards’ pearl-studded purse, as well as Polaroids of the couple showcasing her growing belly, also made the cut.
“5 months of growing our little girl🤍 First outing: #brownlow,” the post was captioned.
The announcement came just one day after Banfield, who has played one game for Fremantle this year, was instrumental in Peel Thunder’s monster win over Claremont in the WAFL Grand Final on Sunday.
The 28-year-old attended the Brownlow Medal awards after he was nominated for the Jim Stynes Community Leadership Award through his work with the Starlight Children’s Foundation, Worthy Australia, and the Purple Hands Foundation.
Banfield and Edwards were married in a romantic Perth Hills ceremony in October 2024.
The Dockers hosted their Brownlow event at Optus Stadium, as they are staying in Western Australia ahead of their Grand Final appearance against the Brisbane Lions on Saturday.
