A ‘Bollywood-style’ theft unfolded on Jaipur’s busy Tonk Road in the early hours of Thursday, when a group of burglars broke into a luxury watch showroom and escaped with around 251 watches worth an estimated Rs 3 crore.
The showroom, ‘The Watch Factory’, is an official Rado store. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, showing the burglars executing the robbery with apparent planning at around 4:30 am, even as vehicles continued to pass along the road.

According to the CCTV footage, the burglars first put up a curtain outside the showroom after reaching the spot. Several members of the group then moved behind the curtain and began breaking the main shutter using an iron rod.
The unusual method gave the break-in a Bollywood-style appearance, with the curtain being used to conceal the activity from people passing by.
What stands out in the CCTV footage is that the robbery was carried out despite regular traffic on the road. Vehicles can be seen passing the showroom while the burglars continued to work behind the makeshift cover.
ONE MAN KEPT WATCH AS OTHERS BROKE SHUTTER
The group also appeared to have assigned specific roles during the operation. While some members concentrated on breaking open the shutter, one of their associates remained outside and kept watch over the road and surrounding area.
Once the shutter was breached, two burglars entered the showroom. They quickly began removing luxury watches from the display area and putting them into bags.
The burglars then emerged from the showroom carrying the bags and fled from the spot.
251 WATCHES WORTH AROUND RS 3 CRORE STOLEN
According to preliminary information, around 251 luxury watches were stolen from the showroom. The total value of the stolen watches is estimated at approximately Rs 3 crore.
The scale of the theft has triggered a police investigation, with teams examining the CCTV footage to identify the suspects and establish their movements before and after the robbery.
Investigators are also looking into whether the burglars had conducted reconnaissance of the showroom before carrying out the theft.
GHODASAN GANG ANGLE UNDER PROBE
A possible connection with the Ghodasan gang is also being examined as part of the investigation. However, police have not officially confirmed the involvement of the gang in the robbery.
The CCTV footage is being analysed for clues about the suspects, their vehicle and the manner in which they reached and left the showroom.
Police are also working to ascertain the exact number and value of watches stolen from the Rado store. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
