Police have released footage and are hunting for two people after a fatal stabbing in inner Sydney in August.
Detectives released the CCTV clip on Wednesday, following the stabbing death of a man in his 30s on August 18 in the suburb of Waterloo.
The clip shows two people walking away with their backs to a CCTV camera, and police have blurred one of the pair who may be under 18 years old.
The appeal comes after the fatal stabbing six weeks ago outside a unit block.
Police were called to a home on Pitt St, Waterloo, about 7.20pm and found a man who had been stabbed. The 34-year-old died soon after in St Vincent’s Hospital.
A 35-year-old woman who was with him also had minor injuries from an assault.
One of the males in the clip is described as Indigenous, 18-19 years old, thin build, about 165cm tall with short hair and was wearing a black hoodie, off-white tracksuit pants and dark-coloured shoes with a white sole.
The second male is also Indigenous, police suspect 17-18 years old, thin build and about 175cm tall. Police say he had longer hair pulled back in a bun or ponytail, unshaven facial hair, and was wearing a two-tone royal blue and light blue hoodie.
Police want anyone with information or footage to come forward.
At the time of the incident, media images showed an apartment on the second floor of the block of flats had been marked off with police tape. 9News reported at the time the 35-year-old woman was refusing to speak to police.
Superintendent Andrew Garner said at the time police had ruled out domestic violence.
“It’s very traumatic for the community, for emergency services, for families,” he said.
At that time, in the immediate aftermath of the attack, police had no descriptive details about the suspects to share.
