It wasn’t a British classic that impressed Formula 1 star Charles Leclerc during his London stopover, but an Indian meal he called ‘incredible.’
The Ferrari driver surprised many when he revealed his favourite dining experience in the city had nothing to do with fish and chips or a Sunday roast.
During a chat with Sky Sports, Leclerc was asked about his experience of British food while travelling for the season. Rather than naming staples like fish and chips or a classic Sunday roast, the Monegasque driver immediately pointed to an unexpected favourite from his recent visit.

“I went to an Indian restaurant yesterday in London. It was incredible,” Leclerc said, highlighting just how much the meal stood out for him.
The restaurant he referred to is Gymkhana, a Michelin-starred Indian fine-dining restaurant located in Mayfair. Known for its colonial-era-inspired interiors and refined Indian menu, Gymkhana has earned a strong global reputation since opening in 2013.

It received its first Michelin star within a year of launch and was later awarded a second Michelin star in 2024, cementing its place among London’s top dining destinations.
Leclerc’s praise adds to the restaurant’s growing list of high-profile admirers, showing how Indian cuisine continues to resonate far beyond its traditional audience.
Meanwhile, on the racing front, attention at the British Grand Prix was firmly on track action, where Kimi Antonelli carried forward momentum from his Sprint victory to secure pole position for Sunday’s main race.
The championship leader extended his advantage to 43 points after winning the 17-lap Sprint, before edging out Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton in a tightly contested qualifying session.
Antonelli clinched his fifth career pole with a blistering final lap, finishing just 0.175 seconds ahead of his rivals in a dramatic session that underlined how competitive the season has become.
