Charli XCX thinks “sex, sexuality and confidence” are “sacred”.
The 34-year-old star, who insisted she feels most confident “on stage” and with her husband George Daniel, has opened up about the importance of being in touch with her own body and emotions.
She told Playboy for a new cover shoot: “I feel quite comfortable in underwear.
“I feel sexy in underwear, and I feel sexy in a fully tailored suit. When I feel sexy, I feel confident.
“Sex, sexuality, and confidence are all very sacred things to me. If I could feel them on the max, all the time, then I would.”
Speaking to Kylie Jenner for the new chat, Charli was asked about the perfect “sexy photo”.
She added: “To me, a sexy photo is something that captures someone’s true essence. It’s not necessarily a perfect photo.
“It can be raw, messy, perhaps a little vulnerable at points. I think a sexy photo shows the truth.”
While George, who Charli married in 2025, keeps her confidence, the pop star also reflected on their “casual” approach since they tied the knot.
She explained: “We’re very kind of like casual and relaxed with the whole marriage thing…
“It means a lot to us, but also at the same time, it’s like we could completely do without it, and we kind of would be as equally in love if we weren’t married…
“It fits, but it’s not like a high-pressure kind of a word for me.”
Charli tied the knot with George in July last year and wore multiple gowns during their celebrations in London.
The Guess hitmaker revealed that not only had she worn her afterparty outfit on stage before the big day, she is going to “deconstruct” the look she sported for their second celebration in Sicily two months later.
Speaking on the cream Saint Laurent ruffled jersey minidress she wore in London, Charli said in a video for Britain’s Vogue magazine: “I always try and not think, ‘These are my pop star clothes and these are my daily clothes.’
“It’s also how I feel about my wedding dress. I’m gonna wear that, like, loads of times.
“The dress I wore to my afterparty, I literally wear it all the time.”
