A child is fighting for life in hospital following a crash on a major highway south of Brisbane on Monday.
The primary-school aged child was travelling in a Nissan station wagon when it crashed with a Subaru sedan on the Mount Lindesay Highway at Gleneagle – about an hour south-west of Brisbane’s CBD – about 2.15pm.
The child was flown with life-threatening injuries from the accident scene to the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
A woman in her 50s was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition, while a second adult in a life-threatening condition was taken to Logan Hospital.
On Tuesday morning, the child remained in critical condition, while both adults had stabilised.
A teenage girl was taken to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.
The highway was closed in both directions at the intersection with Gould Hill Road and Outlook Boulevard.
