Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday ordered an immediate review of fire no-objection certificates, or NOCs, at government and private medical colleges, medical institutions, district-level women’s and men’s hospitals, and hotels across the state. He said institutions with expiring fire NOCs or without a valid certificate must be issued notices without delay.
The direction came days after a fire in a commercial building in Lucknow killed 15 people. At a meeting of the State Transformation Commission, Adityanath also reviewed a range of public-welfare and infrastructure projects, and told officials that all works must be completed on time and to the required standard.

“Institutions whose fire NOC validity is about to expire or those that do not yet possess a valid fire NOC should be issued notices immediately. No compromise of any kind with public safety is acceptable,” the chief minister said.
He directed all district magistrates to hold meetings with the departments concerned in their districts and ensure strict compliance with fire-safety standards.
According to a government statement, Adityanath reviewed the progress of expressways, industrial infrastructure, rural livelihoods, energy, agriculture, data centres and electric-vehicle charging. He said every project must be completed within the stipulated timeline and with quality. “Unnecessary delays in development works will not be acceptable under any circumstances,” he asserted.
Expressing satisfaction over the progress of land acquisition for the Farrukhabad Link Expressway, he directed that the tender process for construction work be expedited. “The new expressways will become the new axis of Uttar Pradesh’s industrial development. Therefore, adequate land availability for the development of industrial areas along these expressways should also be ensured well in time,” he said.
Adityanath also instructed the district magistrates concerned to speed up land acquisition for the Agra-Lucknow-Purvanchal, Jhansi and Jewar link expressways, as well as other projects. The meeting also reviewed the progress and land-acquisition status of the Meerut-Haridwar, Vindhya, Vindhya-Purvanchal and Noida-Jewar link expressways.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the Multi Modal Logistic Hub and Multi Modal Transport Hub in Greater Noida. Officials said most of the land needed for the Multi Modal Logistic Hub has already been made available, while the process of acquiring the remaining land and selecting the developer is underway. The chief minister directed that the remaining work on the project be completed within the stipulated timeline.
While reviewing the proposed Model Building Bye-laws for industrial development authorities, Adityanath directed that objections received be examined, the process be completed within the next 15 days and the revised proposal be placed before the cabinet.
The meeting also reviewed recruitment against vacant posts at the state, district and development block levels under the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission. The chief minister directed that the recruitment process be completed within the stipulated timeline.
On electric vehicles, Adityanath said, “In view of the increasing number of electric vehicles in the state, the establishment of EV-charging stations is the need of the hour. There are vast opportunities for private investment in this sector and the private sector is willing to invest. By simplifying the necessary approvals and procedures, the rapid expansion of charging infrastructure should be ensured.” Officials informed the meeting that charging stations are being established at selected locations under the PM E-Drive Scheme.
The progress of the Data Centre Cluster was also reviewed. “Data-centre projects should be expedited to make Uttar Pradesh a leading state in the field of digital infrastructure,” the chief minister said.
The meeting further reviewed work to remove and separate high-tension power lines passing through sewer lines and manholes in Lucknow Municipal Corporation areas, and directions were issued to complete it on priority. During the energy department review, Adityanath instructed the divisional commissioners of Meerut, Agra and Saharanpur to fix feeder-wise accountability for line loss.
“Wherever there are complaints of power theft, a special campaign should be launched and stringent action should be taken. Uninterrupted and quality power supply must be ensured for honest consumers under all circumstances,” he said.
The meeting focused on stricter fire-safety compliance after the Lucknow blaze, faster execution of key infrastructure and industrial projects, timely recruitment under the rural livelihood mission, expansion of EV-charging and data-centre infrastructure, and closer monitoring of power supply and line losses.
