Corey Feldman’s hospitalisation was due to food poisoning.

The former child star, 54, is said to have started feeling unwell while he was travelling from Chicago to Los Angeles on Monday (15.06.26) and he was met by paramedics after landing and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, with doctors suspecting he may be suffering from pancreatitis or gallstones.

But his spokesperson has now told PageSix.com that the Goonies star had food poisoning but is on the mend now.

The spokesperson said: “Corey is doing much better and is now out of the hospital.”

Corey’s representative also expressed the actor’s gratitude for the messages of support he had received after news of his hospitalisation was made public.

They added: “Corey wants to thank everyone for all of the love and well wishes.

“He has definitely seen a lot of the messages and really appreciates everything.”

It had been reported that a doctor onboard the plane had checked Corey over and raised the possibilities of gallstones or pancreatitis.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department told TMZ they were called to the airport to respond to a report of a man suffering a medical emergency and the unnamed person was taken to hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Corey was in Chicago to attend an event marking 40 years since the release of his film Stand By Me. The actor appeared alongside his co-stars Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton at The Chicago Theatre on Sunday night (14.06.26) on the final date of a speaking tour which has crossed the US.

During the trip, the actor also documented an outing to Gary, Indiana where he visited the house where late pop legend Michael Jackson grew up.

He shared pictured on Instagram and wrote: “On the way driving thr [through] Gary, Indiana, we just had 2 [to] quickly stop [and] pay respect [to] the [greatest] entertainment family in music history [The Jacksons]. Family home on 2300 Jackson St in Gary.”

He added of his speaking tour: “Sadly … this was the final weekend of shows [for] the 40th anniversary of Stand By Me Tour. But I’ve been hearing rumblings that due [to] incredible turnouts there may [be] a chance of more [dates] added in coming months …”

The pictures included a snap of Corey standing outside the Jackson family home holding his fingers up in a peace sign.
