Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed that the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the last of his career, saying he wants to enjoy every moment of the tournament as Portugal prepare to face Spain in the Round of 16.
Speaking ahead of the knockout clash, the Portugal captain said he hopes the match will not be his last on the World Cup stage.

“It will be my last World Cup,” Ronaldo said. “Hopefully tomorrow won’t be my last match.”
The 41-year-old added that he wants to enjoy each day and make the most of his final appearance at football’s biggest tournament.
Ronaldo also joked about the criticism he has faced, telling reporters that if Portugal keep progressing, they can “keep killing me a little more.”
Portugal will look to book a place in the quarter-finals when they take on Spain in one of the biggest matches of the Round of 16.
