A father has been left fighting for his life after being stabbed multiple times outside his home, following an altercation with a group of teens who allegedly attempted to break into his car.
The man, 41, confronted the group on Govan St in Langwarrin – southeast of Melbourne – about 12.20am on Saturday.
Victoria Police allege a verbal exchange escalated before the man was stabbed multiple times in the street.
The alleged offenders then fled the scene.
CCTV allegedly captures one of the teens on the move under the cover of darkness.
The man was taken to hospital with critical injuries.
In a statement, Victoria Police said they had arrested three teenagers, including two 16-year-old boys and a 17-year-old boy.
The teens remain in custody, where they will be interviewed by police.
Police have not charged anyone following the altercation.
