Dakota Johnson would be happy to kiss Anne Hathaway “for the rest of [their] lives”.
The actresses star with Josh Hartnett in psychological thriller Verity, which features scenes where they all lock lips with one another, and the trio had a great time working together.
In a joint interview with Extra, Anne said: “We all kissed each other!”
Dakota laughed: “I would kiss Annie for the rest of my life every day! If you need me, I’m there.
“Sorry, Josh!”
Anne, 43, thinks Josh, 48, isn’t short of admirers.
She noted: “You have every woman in the world lusting after you.”
He replied: “Ridiculous.”
Despite the heavy subject matter, all three stars had a lot of fun on set.
Josh said: “We had a fun working relationship the whole time on set… For a film that is this intense and twisted and dark… we just laughed. We had a really fun time.
“So, as much as there was like the love and the tension and the lustiness in the movie, outside we were just goofing around.”
Anne added: “It’s a sexy thriller but, like, in-between takes we’re just pals.”
Verity sees Jeremy Crawford (Hartnett) hire a writer, Lowen Ashleigh (Johnson), to finish his wife Verity’s (Hathaway) book series after she falls ill and is left unable to walk or talk, and the trio hope the film leaves viewers with questions – and arguments.
Anne said: “It’s like a strategy of mirrors. You know, you kind of look into one and you think you’re seeing one thing, but that’s actually reflecting something else. And so, it’s really hard to understand what the truth is. And so, I think that the experience of ‘Verity’ is not just about questioning what you’re seeing, questioning what you believe, but actually questioning why you have a tendency to believe some people over others.”
Josh joked: “I hope that people just come out of it debating like their point of view on what actually happened and then, you know, get into a little bit of a fight.”
Dakota, 36, added: “The whole time you’re wondering who the villain is. And I think that’s so much fun. I think audiences get tired of being spoon-fed information and being told what to believe. So, I think it’s nice to let people decide for themselves what story they want.”
