Here are the top three West Coast and Fremantle players according to Danielle Laidley’s ratings, which appear every Monday in The West Australian and at thewest.com.au. Check out the full list here!
WEST COAST
1. Reuben Ginbey: 10
He is the defensive wall and didn’t let anything pass when the game was up for grabs. Had a massive 11 intercepts, won many one-on-ones and is just a super competitor.
2. Tom McCarthy: 9
Defended very well, racking up eight intercepts. Used the ball exceptionally well penetrating from defence, with 8 score involvements, and kicked his own first goal in AFL football.
3. Willem Duursma: 9
Just pure class. Didn’t fumble, gaining 25 touches and six inside 50s and close to 400 metres gained. Won plenty of contests, including four clearances. Worked hard without the ball, making five tackles.

FREMANTLE
1. Patrick Voss: 9
A mix of lead-up and contested marks caused real issues for the opposition and from that he kicked 4.3. Also worked hard higher up the ground, having four inside 50s, leading to a goal assist and 10 score involvements.

2. Shai Bolton: 9
He is in devastating form, particularly around centre throw-ups, with another four clearances. He is also penetrating the game with six inside 50s. His decision-making with the ball is elite, with three direct goal assists.
3. Matthew Johnson: 9
Took on a defensive role on Lachie Neale and took him out of the game when it counted. Was then strong and powerful around the ball himself with 20 touches, four tackles and six clearances. Kicked a goal and had a goal assist.
