Contrary to viral reports claiming that actor Deepika Padukone is set to lead Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra 2, India Today Digital has learnt that the actor is, in fact, not associated with the project.
Padukone’s spokesperson clarified that reports claiming she is part of the second film in the fantasy franchise, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor, are completely baseless.
Deepika Padukone’s spokesperson said, “All recent reports of Deepika Padukone being a part of Brahmastra 2 or associated with the project in any capacity are untrue.”

Padukone had a blink-and-miss appearance in the first Brahmastra, which was released in 2022. Various reports have been doing the rounds lately, suggesting that Ranbir and Ayan will begin work on the second instalment in 2027. The same reports claimed that Alia Bhatt, who played the lead opposite Ranbir in the first film, will have an extended cameo, while Deepika will have a major role.
Seems like the rumours are just that – rumours.
Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone, who is expecting her second child with her husband Ranveer Singh, has two big films in the pipeline. She will reunite with Shah Rukh Khan in King and will also be seen alongside Allu Arjun in Raaka.
