Drake has paid a heartfelt tribute to Tay Keith following the producer’s death.

The God’s Plan hitmaker took to Instagram to mourn the studio wizard – who he worked with on songs including First Person Shooter, Nonstop, What Did I Miss?, and Rich Flex – after he was found dead at his Nashville home on Thursday (18.06.26) aged just 29.

Sharing a black and white image of Tay alongside the words “In Loving Memory of Tay Keith. Rest in Peace”, Drake wrote on Instagram: “Endless and eternal gratitude for your spirit and your contributions to this thing that we all love so much. You will be deeply missed.”

Metro Nashville Police said the producer – whose real name was Brytavious Lakeith Chambers – was found at his Martin Street apartment on Thursday (18.06.26) during a welfare check.

An autopsy will determine the cause of death, but foul play has been ruled out.

In a statement, the department said: “No foul play is suspected in the death of Brytavious Chambers also known as Grammy‑nominated record producer Tay Keith.

“He was found dead in his Martin St apartment this afternoon by officers performing a welfare check. His death is unclassified pending autopsy results.”

His family also shared the news in their own statement.

They said: “It is with profound sadness that we confirm the passing of BryTavious ‘Tay Keith’ Chambers.

“BryTavious was a visionary producer, songwriter, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and cultural force whose work helped define the sound of a generation.

“From Memphis to the global stage, he shaped countless hit records and left a lasting mark on music and culture. He was deeply committed to creating opportunities for others through his company, Drumatized, supporting emerging songwriters, producers, and artists.”

The Memphis‑born producer, known for his work with Drake, Travis Scott, Beyoncé, 21 Savage, Swae Lee and Eminem, began making beats at the age of 14.

His career gained momentum in 2015 when he started working with Blac Youngsta, and he achieved viral success in 2017 with Shoot, his collaboration with BlocBoy JB.

The Look Alive producer reached global recognition the following year when the track, featuring Drake, became an international hit. He went on to co‑produce Travis Scott’s 2018 No. 1 single Sicko Mode, the first hip-hop song in history to spend at least 30 weeks in the chart’s Top 10.

Sicko Mode earned Grammy nominations for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.

Keith also produced the likes of Drake’s Nonstop, Beyoncé’s Before I Let Go, and Eminem’s Not Alike.

The Pound Town producer also released solo material, including the 2023 single of the same name with Sexyy Red. The track became a breakout moment for the rapper and later received a remix from Nicki Minaj.
