Drake briefly premiered his Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) project on YouTube on Tuesday (15.09.26) – only for it to vanish shortly after its premiere.

The film, which Drake labelled a “not‑so‑short” release, stitched together fresh music videos from his three‑album summer run and included several previously unheard songs. One of the new tracks sees him leaning into country‑inspired production and interpolating Ella Langley’s chart‑topping single Choosin’ Texas.

Ella also appears in the film, alongside Don Toliver, Sexyy Red, Winnie Harlow, Lena the Plug, viral internet goth girl Pinkchyu – who the rapper chose as a date on his online dating show – and Drake’s mother Sandi Graham. The project features new collaborations with Toliver and Yeat, adding to the mix of unreleased material fans were quick to dissect before the video disappeared.

As of Wednesday (16.09.26) morning, FOMO has not returned to YouTube, and it remains unclear whether the film will be re‑uploaded or if the new tracks will be issued separately.

Drake revealed the important “life advice” behind the project and how music videos are still an important format to him, even if it’s not as popular.

He wrote on Instagram: “Here’s some life advice before you watch.

“Nobody is coming to save you. You must use each day to decipher who you love and trust and march forward with them I hope this serves as motivation to make that call, take that trip, drop that song, open that shop, see your parents, leave that relationship or stay in it forever, spend the bread, get some more etc.

“They keep saying our genre is dying.

“Videos don’t matter. Nobody is watching nobody is listening. I still care. As much as I did on the set of Best I Ever Had. So be kind and rewind.”

FOMO briefly landed two weeks after Drake teased his remix of Choosin’ Texas during a DJ set in Toronto.

Drake recently attended Ella’s Arkansas show where he was seen singing along to the track and also posed for a picture with the star herself backstage.

The hip-hop star is a huge Ella fan and recently heaped praise on her songwriting, commenting on one of her Instagram posts: “Goated Pen.”

And the appreciation is mutual, as the country star posted a TikTok video of her lip-syncing to Drake and Lil Wayne’s 2011 collaboration HYFR (Hell Ya F****** Right).

Ella has enjoyed worldwide success with Choosin’ Texas, which topped both the US Billboard Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts.

She’s also received praise from music veterans such as Shania Twain, who called her an “authentic songwriter” in an interview with Rolling Stone.

Shania said: “I’ve never met Ella Langley, but just from what I’m observing, like all of us, she seems very authentic. She doesn’t come across to me as somebody that’s trying to be somebody else, or trying to write a song that, you know, is with an agenda. I see her as, like, an authentic songwriter.”
