Delhi University held a placement drive on Saturday, bringing more than 75 organisations and over 500 participants under one roof to facilitate direct engagement between students and potential employers.
The initiative was designed to expand students’ access to employment opportunities while creating stronger connections between the university and industry.
The ‘Placement Drive 2026’ was organised by DU’s Department of Continuing Education and Extension in association with the Centre for Distance and Online Education. Students pursuing MA Tourism Management, MA Lifelong Learning and Extension, programmes in social sciences, as well as learners enrolled with the Centre for Distance and Online Education, were eligible to participate.

The drive was conducted from 11 am to 4 pm at the department’s seminar room. Students interacted with recruiters, connected with professionals from different sectors and attended sessions focused on career guidance, the university said.
PARTICIPATING ORGANISATIONS
The participating organisations represented a wide range of sectors, including education, social development, healthcare, research, human rights, tourism and hospitality.
Among them were Janhit Society for Social Welfare, Abhiyakti Foundation, Saraswati Educational Society, Child Survival India, Bal Vikas Dhara, Samanvit Shiksha Sansthan, Aakanshi Samiti, Indian Society for Applied Research, EFRAH, Samarth, Mitr Trust, ADHAR and MRYDO.
Tourism and hospitality companies, including Uma Tourism and Holidays and Tripstride Tourism Pvt Ltd, also participated and offered students opportunities in travel and tourism.
The event was organised under the patronage of DU Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh. Payal Mago, Director, Campus of Open Learning, and Kumar Ashutosh, Head of the Department of Continuing Education and Extension, served as patrons, while Ajay Jaiswal, Director, Centre for Distance and Online Education, was the co-patron.
The university said it intends to organise similar employment-focused programmes on a regular basis to help students connect with employers and gain wider access to career opportunities.
