An emergency response is underway at Fiona Stanley Hospital after a fire broke out in the intensive care unit.
The South Metropolitan Health Service confirmed the incident took place on Thursday morning. The fire has since been extinguished.
The structure fire was reported at 10.05am and Department of Fire and Emergency Services firefighters attended.
It is not known if anyone was injured in the fire, or what caused it.
It is understood elective surgeries at the hospital have been cancelled.
The SMHS is expected to release more information soon.
