Actor Bobby Deol’s film Bandar released in theatres on June 5. Ahead of its release, his half-sister, actor Esha Deol, attended a special screening of the film in Mumbai on Thursday. After the screening, Esha, on her Insta Stoy, praised Bobby’s performance and urged audiences to watch the film in theatres.
Sharing a picture with Bobby Deol and Tanya Deol on Instagram, Esha wrote, “You are in the best form ever! Undoubtedly the finest actor today. Enduring and vulnerable! Way to go, bhaiya.” She also encouraged fans to watch the film, adding, “Go watch Bandar!” Bobby later re-shared the post on his Instagram Stories.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Bandar is a crime thriller produced by Nikhil Dwivedi under his banner, Saffron Magicworks. The film has been written by Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee and is inspired by real-life events. It stars Bobby Deol in the lead role, alongside Sanya Malhotra, Sapna Pabbi, Saba Azad, Indrajith Sukumaran, Raj B Shetty and Jitendra Joshi in key roles.
The film follows an ageing television star who is accused of rape by his former girlfriend. Bandar premiered in the Special Presentations section at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, 2025. It also marks the first collaboration between Bobby Deol and Anurag Kashyap. The film, which released in theatres on June 5, opened to positive reviews from critics, with many praising Bobby’s performance as one of the strongest of his career.
After Bandar, Bobby will next be seen in the YRF Spy Universe film Alpha. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film also stars Alia Bhatt, Sharvari and Anil Kapoor in key roles. Alpha is the seventh instalment in Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe, which includes Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3 and War 2. Alpha is scheduled to release in theatres on July 3.
