FKA twigs has dismissed her lawsuit against Shia LaBeouf after he dropped a non-disclosure agreement against her.

The 38-year-old singer – whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett – had previously sued the Transformers star for alleged sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress during the course of their brief relationship in 2019, but last year she agreed to end the lawsuit and settle the case out of court, before taking further action over a confidentiality provision in their settlement agreement.

On Monday (05.10.26), the Carpenter’s Son singer filed a request in Los Angeles County Superior Court to dismiss the case, with her former partner agreeing the disputed NDA provisions “are terminated and void,” meaning Twigs is free to speak about her experiences and support charitable causes “without fear of reprisal.”

Her attorney, Mathew Rosengart, told People magazine: “Twigs stood up for something larger than herself, all female survivors of sexual abuse.

“On the heels of Mr. LaBeouf’s now dismissed, failed December 2025 arbitration against twigs, this important victory completely frees her to discuss her experience, advocate for other women who might be less privileged, and support the charitable causes of her choice.”

The 40-year-old actor sent his best wishes to his former partner via his lawyer.

His legal representative, Shawn Holley, said in a statement: “Shia wishes twigs nothing but the best in her life and career and, to that end, has agreed to end their long-standing dispute. Twigs has spoken about this matter for years and there is now nothing to prevent her from continuing to do so.”

The singer had taken legal action to block the Honey Boy actor from being awarded “exorbitant monies” he sought in a secret arbitration complaint in December 2025, which stemmed from a comment Twigs had made to the Hollywood Reporter in October in apparent violation of the terms of their settlement’s non-disclosure agreement.

Twigs argued she felt “bullied” and “silenced”.

Documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court and obtained by Entertainment Weekly stated: “She files this action to right a wrong, and also on behalf of other women who are the victims of sexual and domestic violence who do not have the resources to speak out and defend themselves from predators.

“In so doing, she seeks to ensure that survivors of sexual misconduct are not themselves bullied or silenced like she was by agreements that violate California law and public policy.”

And in a statement, Twigs’ attorney accused Shia of attempting to “intimidate” the singer with his “foolish” legal action.

He said: “This action was taken in response to Mr. LaBeouf’s attempt to silence and intimidate my client through a foolish, frivolous, and unlawful secret arbitration he filed against her in December.

“We are pleased to have obtained its dismissal earlier this month, and to her great credit and on behalf of other survivors as well, twigs refuses to be bullied anymore. This is not about money but about upholding and enforcing California law and policy designed to protect survivors by nullifying illegal NDAs.”
