A major police operation is under way in Sydney’s northwest after a man was found dead in a creek during the search for a missing person.
Officers made the discovery about 10.15am on Friday at Torry Burn Reserve in Baulkham Hills, where the man’s body was found face down in the water.
Police sealed off the reserve soon after, with water police, specialist divers and forensic officers sweeping the creek and surrounding bushland for clues.
Investigators have not formally identified the man and are waiting on urgent forensic testing to help determine how he died.

Foul play has not been ruled out, with detectives from Strike Force Lanrik now leading inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death and whether it is suspicious.
