Hyderabad: On August 9 in the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri region of Telangana, four people reportedly pleaded guilty to the opioid drug mephedrone, which is a prohibited substance, were detained, according to police.
The authorities seized 27 pounds of the 54-crore illegal.
According to them, the illegal was being transported for distribution to Nagpur in Maharashtra.
A group from the Bibinagar police stop conducted a unique procedure on August 8 and intercepted a vehicle in response to credible information.
According to Yadadri Bhuvanagiri Superintendent of Police Akshansh Yadav, the officers discovered 27 kg of mephedrone and two plastic bottles containing around 40 kilograms of the drug.
The four accused, two from Maharashtra and one from Assamadugu and one from Hyderabad, allegedly confessed during investigation that the banned substance had been produced improperly at a Kondamadugu lab between August 5 and 7, with the assistance of other affiliates.
According to their statement, the police dug into the lab’s boiler and centrifuge production equipment.
The alleged planner and businessman of the drug producing procedure, those involved in its production and transportation, and the person in charge of the lab were the four arrested, according to authorities.
They were taken into custody and later detained in criminal prison.
The laboratory owner and the other important suspects in the case are eluded, and searches are being made to capture them, according to police.
According to the authorities, the seized lab equipment and facilities will be handled in accordance with the law.
