More than 30 of WA’s ceramic artists and potters will gather in South Perth this weekend as the Crafted Clay Market returns with live demonstrations, interactive workshops and hundreds of handmade clay creations.
The one-day only event will be held on Sunday, July 12, at the South Perth Community Hall from 11am to 4pm, bringing together local makers who specialise in ceramics and pottery.
This free event is dedicated entirely to handmade clay work, with attendees able to browse everything from pottery to sculptural creations, jewellery and decorative ceramics.

Each artist will be available to speak with visitors about their creative processes and the stories behind their work, with makers from across the State taking part.
The market will also feature free drop-in hand-building workshops, where all ages are invited to create their very own punch pot with no booking required. A charge of $10 will be required if participants want their creation glazed and fired.
Attendees who want to give the pottery wheel a go can also book a 15-minute wheel-throwing session for $10, with the activity delivered with Belmont Potters Group. The activities are designed as a introduction to wheel-throwing rather than formal lessons.
Crafted Clay markets is organised by MarketLife, a Perth-based event management company which specialises in showcasing local makers and celebrating handmade creations.
Wheel-throwing sessions can be booked online.
