Patrick Voss isn’t just the centre of attention on the field, the Fremantle Dockers star had all eyes on him during his Telethon appearance on Sunday evening.
The 23-year-old sat on a panel at RAC Arena alongside Weekend Sunrise presenter Sally Bowrey, sports journalist Mel McLaughlin, former West Coast Eagles star Nic Naitanui and veteran AFL commentator Brian Taylor when the topic of his nickname — Prancing Pony — came up.
After cheers from the crowd and encouragement to take his top off, Voss used the opportunity to show exactly why he earned that name, stripping off his shirt.
“He did look like a horse trotting around. It’s just something that was said and it stuck,” Taylor says.
“You didn’t even really have to ask him, he just stripped it off,” Taylor quips.
Voss wasn’t the only AFL player to send crowds wild, with Eagles gun Harley Reid making a surprise appearance during a game with The Chase stars Mara Lejins and David Poltorak, and Home and Away actor Kyle Shilling.
Armed with foam hands, the four contestants appeared on stage with bags over their hears, playfully slapping eachother to try and remove the bags.
In not his usual Eagles fashion, Reid won the game, unveiling his identity to cheers from the crowd before helping to announce a massive $1.5 million Crown donation to Telethon.
