The new season picks up from where Season 1 ended and follows Dr Prabhat as he continues his effort to revive the struggling Primary Health Centre in Bhathkandi. Even as he slowly earns the trust of the villagers despite their scepticism, fresh challenges emerge at every step. The story goes deeper into the clash between idealism and reality, as Dr Prabhat learns that running a rural healthcare centre needs far more than medical knowledge.

When is Gram Chikitsalay Season 2 releasing on OTT?

Season 2 of Gram Chikitsalay will premiere worldwide on June 23. The release date was announced by the makers on Thursday.

The series will stream on Prime Video. Manish Menghani, director and head of content licensing, Prime Video, India, said the platform was glad to bring audiences the next chapter of the rural comedy-drama after the response to the first season.

Speaking about the show, Menghani said, “As audience preferences continue to evolve, we are seeing a growing appetite not just for authentic urban narratives, but increasingly for stories rooted in rural India as well. Gram Chikitsalay reflected this trend through its slice-of-life storytelling and emotionally resonant themes.”

Who are the cast members returning for the new season?

The series stars Amol Parashar in the lead role. The cast also includes Akash Makhija, Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Vinay Pathak, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and Garima Vikrant Singh. Familiar faces return for the new season, while actor and politician Dinesh Lal Yadav joins the cast this time.

Director Lalitam Tiwari said, “With Gram Chikitsalay Season two, we are excited to continue a story that has always been about much more than just a rural comedy drama for us. Since Season one, our aim has been to authentically capture rural life in all its realities. The new season builds on that vision by depicting the challenges of delivering healthcare, the quirks, deep community bonds, and resilience that define rural living, brought to life by nuanced and relatable characters.”

How was Season 1 of Gram Chikitsalay?

India Today gave Gram Chikitsalay Season 1 a rating of 3.5 stars.

A part of the review read, “Series like this are not meant for a one-day watch. It allows you to take your time and watch it wrapped in a blanket of emotions. Gram Chikitsalay probably, successfully, takes you back home. Prabhat is a man who’s constantly wronged by circumstances. So much so that his days end with sometimes necessary, and sometimes out of sheer need of escapism – ‘galti meri hai’.”

With Season 2 set to arrive, Gram Chikitsalay returns to Bhathkandi with Dr Prabhat’s journey, its familiar cast, a new addition in Dinesh Lal Yadav.
