A Grammy-nominated music producer who worked with world-famous artists including Beyonce, Travis Scott and Drake has been found dead.
Tay Keith’s body was discovered in his Nashville apartment on Thursday when police went to conduct a welfare check.
Local police said no foul play is suspected in the 29-year-old’s passing, but they did not confirm an official cause of death.
“He was found dead in his Martin St apt this afternoon by officers performing a welfare check,” police said in a statement on social media.
“His death is unclassified pending autopsy results.”
Mr Keith — whose real name was Brytavious Chambers — had a successful career, earning 11 top ten hits and shaping the sound of modern rap.
At just 23 and as the mastermind behind Travis Scott’s hit song Sicko Mode, he was nominated for a Grammy, which also helped earn him a spot on Forbes’ 30 under 30 music list in 2025.
Social media has been flooded with tributes from heartbroken friends and family.
Rapper Machine Gun Kelly wrote: “Damn…tay keith influenced so much and he wasn’t even 30 yet.”
Juicy J said he “can’t believe the news”.
“RIP TAY KEITH Memphis Tenn Legend Prayers up for the family friends & fans we lost a great one,” Juicy J wrote on X.
