Actor Govinda’s wife Ssunita Ahuja, a contestant on director Farah Khan and actor Riteish Deshmukh’s reality show Lock Upp, has once again spoken about Govinda’s alleged extra-marital affairs during a conversation on the show. She said she lives for her children, values her privacy and does not want to dwell on the issue, adding that thinking about it too much would worsen her diabetes.

Ssunita, who has made headlines over the past year for speaking about cheating in marriage on different platforms, discussed the subject with co-participant Shreya Kalra. The exchange on the show came after earlier interviews in which she had also reflected on her marriage and on Govinda‘s role as a husband.

During the conversation, Ssunita referred to the issue as something that had been there from the beginning. She said, “Hua toh abhi kya kar sakte hain… shuru se hi hua hain na lekin? Hero hain toh you can’t say anything. Iss umar mein abhi sochunga toh diabetes aur badhega. Jaise chal raha hain chalne do (If it happened, what can I do now? It has been there since the beginning, right? He is a hero so you can’t say anything. If I think about these things now, my diabetes will increase. Let things continue as they are.” When Shreya asked her, “Don’t you feel sad?” Ssunita replied, “It’s fine. I live for my kids).”

When asked whether she thinks Govinda still continues to have affairs, Ssunita said, “Can you stop someone? Shall I sit in front of him 24 hours a day? The other person would get irritated too. I don’t even think about it.” She also said, “We have got two houses. Many people come to see him at his house. I need privacy in my own home.”

Ssunita reiterated her past stance that she wouldn’t want a husband like Govinda, even while praising his dedication as a son and brother. She noted that while she enjoys parties, dinners, and vacations, he became so consumed by providing for his family that he never truly enjoyed life, adding that “He is 60 but has never lived for himself.”

Ssunita admitted that seeing him miss out on life makes her feel bad, questioning what he has truly experienced despite being such a massive superstar. She emphasised her ultimate respect for him by stating, “I always say that I want a son like Govinda, not a husband.” However, she dismissed any idea of regret or parting ways now, concluding that after 40 years together, even considering a separation “would be a crime.”

On different occasions over the past year, Ssunita has accused Govinda of having an extra-marital affair. Govinda recently responded to the claims and described them as part of a “conspiracy” against him. Speaking to ANI, he said he had chosen to respond because remaining silent could make him appear “weak” and add to what he called a “problematic” image being formed about him.

Govinda said, “What I’ve been observing lately is that sometimes, when we don’t speak, we either appear weak or it seems like we are simply the problem. So today, I’m responding. I was told that people in my family might be unknowingly involved and they won’t realise they are being used in the initial stages of a big conspiracy.”

Govinda and Ssunita have been married since 1987 and are parents to Tina and Yashvardhan. While Tina made her Bollywood debut in 2015 with Second Hand Husband, Yashvardhan is preparing for his acting debut.

Earlier on Lock Upp, Ssunita had admitted that Govinda’s nephew, actor Krushna Abhishek’s wife, actor Kashmera Shah, had made peace with her. She praised Kashmera for mending the family feud.

Ssunita’s new reality series Lock Upp is currently streaming on Netflix.
