Health authorities have issued an urgent warning after a dangerously high dose batch of ecstasy tablets were found in circulation in NSW.
The warnings relate to several pills with distinctive branding, including tablets shaped like video game characters from Super Mario and Angry Birds.
NSW Health warns that the pills contain high doses of MDMA, otherwise known as ecstasy, which can pose extreme risks to health and even life.
The authority warns that some of the tablets in circulation contain as much as 268mg of the drug, posing a particularly high risk if users re-dose.

“You are at increased risk of harm if you take multiple MDMA tablets or capsules or take a higher-dose MDMA tablet,” NSW Health warned.
“If you’re not feeling the effects yet, don’t re-dose. High-dose MDMA use has been linked to death and other serious harms.”

Authorities have warned about six specific tablets which are in circulation., which are:- A yellow skull ‘MYBRAND’ tablet containing 268mg of MDMA
– A peach-coloured Mario tablet containing 190mg of MDM
– A red ‘Angry Birds’ tablet containing 181mg of MDMA
– A peach/pink ‘Facebook’ logo tablet containing 174mg of MDMA
– A yellow ‘Breitling’ tablet containing 173mg of MDMA
– A yellow ‘Route 66’ tablet containing 173mg of MDMA

What to look out for
Signs that an individual may have taken a high dose of the drug include feeling hot and sweaty, a racing heart or pulse, rigid muscles, confusion or agitation and vomiting.
Anyone who has taken MDMA and experiences any of these symptoms should immediately seek emergency care through Triple Zero.
