Beloved actress Hayden Panettiere celebrated “good times and good friends” in a heartbreaking final social media post just three weeks before her sudden death.
The 36-year-old’s representative confirmed on Monday that the mum-of-one passed away on Sunday evening.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,” the statement said.
“She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”
On July 27, Panettiere posted a black and white photo looking happy with photographer Randall Slavin, alongside a caption that read: “Good times and good friends @randallslavin ✨.”
Following news of her death, Mr Slavin reshared the picture, saying “Peace be with you, H”.
Her cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Just three months ago, Ms Panettiere opened up about her struggles, revealing for the first time that she was bisexual and detailed her journey with postpartum depression and addiction.
Panettiere — who rose to international fame playing cheerleader Claire Bennet in the hit sci-fi series Heroes, which ran from 2006 to 2010 — shares a daughter, Kaya, with Ukrainian boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko.
Following their separation, and her second stint in rehab, Klitschko gained full custody of their child. Their daughter then moved to live with her father in Ukraine.
Panettiere previously described being separated from Kaya as “one of the worst days of my life”.
“It was a living nightmare, and I felt so out of control. There’s nothing that I could do about it,” Panettiere said.
In more recent years, she spoke about rebuilding a close co-parenting relationship with Klitschko, saying “I have an incredible relationship with both of them”.
“I’m so grateful for Wlad. We’re very close, and have had a deep friendship, along with a relationship, since I met him when I was 19.”
