Sutton Foster reportedly wants her boyfriend Hugh Jackman to end his friendship with Ryan Reynolds due to his wife Blake Lively’s ongoing career dramas.
Foster and Jackman have been dating since January 2025, but their romance may be in trouble if the Australian actor doesn’t stop hanging out with his Wolverine co-star, as reported by Woman’s Day.
“Sutton and Blake don’t get on, and combined with the fact that Blake’s recent legal issues have affected Ryan’s career, Sutton’s right to be fearful of Hugh hanging out with Ryan,” a source told the publication.
Jackman has supported Reynolds and Lively through their lengthy and bitter legal battle against It Ends With Us director and star Justin Baldoni, but Foster wants Jackman to reconsider the friendship.
“Hugh’s not having any of it, of course. He’s always been a loyal friend and has seen so many of his close mates go through hell – and he’s always stood by them. Ryan’s one of them,” the insider said of the actors, who travelled to Spain together recently for the celebrity SailGP boat race.
“He knows Ryan’s not doing so well and wants to help him get through this, no matter who it upsets.”
It is believed Foster and Lively do not have “a deep and meaningful friendship” despite going on double dates, according to a source.
The relationship strife comes as Jackman is reportedly under financial stress as his New York penthouse continues to sit on the market more than three years after he and ex-wife Deborra-lee Furness first tried to sell it for $54.2 million.
The property has been listed since March at a heavily reduced $40.1 million.
The former couple finalised their divorce in June 2025 and in May Furness opened up about her marriage breakdown, saying her belief in God helped her navigate the “traumatic journey of betrayal”.
