Kohli’s association with RCB is one of the most enduring and remarkable player-franchise partnerships in world cricket. Having represented the Bengaluru-based side in every IPL season, he has become the face of the franchise.
Over the years, he has rewritten the record books, emerging as the highest run-scorer in IPL history with 9,336 runs from 283 matches. Most recently, he played a key role in helping RCB successfully defend their IPL title, further cementing his legacy as one of the franchise’s greatest-ever players.
“RCB and Virat are different sides of the same coin. He has been the constant factor for RCB throughout. We have not seen him not being part of RCB even if he moves out of his cricketing career. We have to figure out. That said, next three-four years, I am sure he’ll be playing … for at least four years,” Menon told CNBC TV18.
“He is fit, the hunger never dies. You saw him this IPL season bring on the energy, runs, attitude.everything was there. Three-four years, absolutely no problem,” the RCB CEO said.
VIRAT KOHLI KEEPS GETTING HUNGRIER
The former India captain has produced several memorable seasons for RCB over the years. In 2016, he enjoyed what is widely regarded as one of the greatest batting campaigns in IPL history, amassing a record 973 runs. More recently, he won the Orange Cap in 2024 after scoring 741 runs and followed it up with another stellar season in 2025, accumulating 657 runs at an average of 54.75 as RCB finally ended their long wait for an IPL title.
Kohli once again played a crucial role in RCB’s successful IPL 2026 campaign. The veteran batter was the franchise’s most dependable performer throughout the season, finishing as the team’s leading run-scorer with 675 runs.
He saved his best for the biggest occasion. In the IPL 2026 final against Gujarat Titans, Kohli anchored RCB’s chase with an unbeaten 75 off 42 balls, bringing up the fastest fifty of his IPL career. The 37-year-old remained unbeaten till the end and fittingly sealed the victory with a six as RCB defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets to lift their second successive IPL title.
