A Hyderabad content creator shared a video showing an unusual sight on one of the city’s busiest roads: multiple birthday celebrations taking place right on the road divider.
The video was shared by Hyderabad-based content creator Parikshit Chugh, who captured the scene while driving along Khajaguda Lake Road.
In the clip, Chugh was seen filming from his vehicle as he passed several groups gathered at different points along the divider. What caught his attention was that nearly every group appeared to be celebrating a birthday.

Some were seen standing around cakes placed on the divider, while others appeared to be singing, taking photos and celebrating with friends. As the camera moved along the stretch of road, more birthday gatherings came into view, making it seem as though the divider had unexpectedly turned into the city’s preferred birthday party venue.
Amused by the sight, Chugh shared the video with the caption, “Ye kya horaha hai Hyd mein?” (What is going on in Hyderabad?)

The unusual gathering quickly attracted attention online, with viewers divided between finding the trend amusing and questioning the practicality of celebrating in the middle of a busy roadway.
Many social media users joked that Hyderabad residents seemed to have found a unique way of making use of public spaces. One commenter humorously remarked that people were “divided by dividers, united by birthdays.”
Others were less impressed, arguing that such celebrations reflected a lack of civic sense and raised concerns about public behaviour on busy roads.
Several users also pointed out the possibility of litter being left behind after the celebrations, saying they could already imagine cake boxes, plastic packaging and disposable items being abandoned along the roadside once the parties ended.
A few commenters took a lighter approach, suggesting that Khajaguda Lake Road had become so closely associated with such gatherings that it might as well be officially renamed “Divider Celebrations Road.”
The video has gone viral, with many Hyderabad residents chiming in to say that roadside birthday celebrations have become an increasingly common sight in parts of the city, especially late in the evening when groups of friends gather to mark special occasions in unconventional ways.
