As questions continue to be raised over the CBSE evaluation system and the tendering process behind it, student activist Sarthak has dismissed claims that his campaign is linked to any political party, saying his only objective was to bring student concerns into the public domain.

Speaking during an interview with India Today, Sarthak addressed criticism that emerged after he met Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in Parliament. Some social media users and observers had suggested that he was aligning himself with opposition parties because of the questions he raised about the government and the Education Ministry.

Responding to the allegations, Sarthak said opposition parties play an important role in a democracy as pressure groups, but insisted that his work was not politically motivated.

“My point was to raise awareness about the problems students are facing and about the tendering process. I think I did my job. If someone supports me, I am thankful. If someone ignores me, I do not really care,” he said.

‘CURIOSITY, NOT POLITICS, DROVE ME’

Sarthak said he has no political or ideological affiliation with any party and that his actions were guided by curiosity rather than political considerations.

“I did not do this because of political reasons. I did this because I have a curious and inquisitive nature,” he said.

He also challenged stereotypes about Generation Z, arguing that young people are often unfairly portrayed as being interested only in social media and quick entertainment.

According to him, every generation faces criticism from those who came before it. He said such stereotypes have existed for centuries and should not be used to define an entire generation.

“This should not be linked to my generation. Every generation makes progress, and I am hopeful about Gen Z as well. Since the beginning of humanity, generations have continued to move forward, and I believe that will continue,” he said.

Sarthak’s remarks come amid growing public attention on student-led efforts to scrutinise examination processes and demand greater transparency in educational institutions.
