The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will close the re-evaluation window for Class 12 answer sheets today, June 7. The facility is available for candidates who have opted to receive scanned copies of their answer scripts.
CBSE recently posted on X, reminding students about the deadline.
Below the post, Siddhant Sarthak, a Class 12 student whose allegations of irregularities in CBSE’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) system and related tender process drew national attention, also tweeted seeking an extension.

Deadline Extended Earlier Amid Portal Glitches and Cybersecurity Concerns
Earlier, the re-evaluation window was scheduled to close on June 6, but was extended till June 7.
The portal was activated at approximately 4:30 am on June 2, only after all security checks were completed, the board said, following concerns raised by several students on social media about issues with the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.
On June 3, the portal was targeted by a malicious Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack involving nearly 3.8 million packets. However, it said the system remained secure and fully operational due to timely intervention by technical teams.
The attack occurred during peak usage hours when thousands of students were simultaneously accessing the platform to submit post-result requests.
THE 17-YEAR-OLD BLOG THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
Sarthak Sidhant emerged as the unexpected face of the CBSE OSM controversy after alleging irregularities in the board’s tender process. He claimed that CBSE relaxed key eligibility criteria and reduced certain security requirements, which ultimately led to Hyderabad-based Coempt Eduteck securing the On-Screen Marking (OSM) contract. He also said he began reviewing the issue after receiving his scanned answer sheet under the re-evaluation process, which led him to question the system.
According to Sarthak, his examination of CBSE’s tender documents revealed discrepancies that appeared to favour a specific service provider. He alleged that while both TCS and Coempt Edutech had participated in the OSM tender issued in February 2025, subsequent changes in tender conditions—reportedly including modifications to blacklisting, turnover, and past performance criteria—helped Coempt Edutech qualify more easily. He further claimed that the original tender was later removed from public records.
Over several days, the 17-year-old student analysed multiple documents and shared his findings through social media posts and a detailed blog, where he claimed to have identified several irregularities in the procurement process.
