India produced a ruthless attacking display to storm into the semi-finals of the Women’s Junior Asia Cup with a stunning 19-0 win over Pakistan on Thursday. The one-sided contest saw India dominate every phase of the game and register one of the biggest victories of the tournament.
India’s pressure was evident from the outset as they earned two penalty corners inside the opening five minutes. After an early goal was ruled out following a referral, Puja Sahoo finally broke the deadlock in the seventh minute before Roshni Aind doubled the advantage two minutes later.

The floodgates opened soon after, with Tanushree Kadu adding a third through a deflection before Sukhveer Kaur converted a penalty stroke. Sanika Mane then made it 5-0 before the end of the opening quarter, with Madhu Sidar and Geeta Yadav extending the advantage in the second.
India reached half-time 10-0 ahead after further goals from Sanika, Tanuja Toppo and Pooja Malik. There was no let-up after the break either, as Purnima Yadav, Madhu and Supriya added three more goals in the third quarter, leaving Pakistan with an enormous deficit to overcome.
INDIA KEEP THEIR FOOT ON THE GAS
The final quarter turned into another exhibition of India’s attacking depth. Krishna Sharma opened the scoring in the period before Pooja completed her hat-trick, while Supriya scored again to complete her brace. Binima Dhan and Roshni added the final two goals, with Roshni’s strike in the 60th minute completing the 19-0 rout.
India finished with 19 goals, 18 penalty corners and one penalty stroke, while Pakistan failed to earn a single goal, penalty corner or penalty stroke throughout the match.
India will now face the winner of the Korea vs Malaysia quarter-final in the semi-final on Saturday as they continue their push for the Junior Asia Cup title.
